Programmer

I have 15 years commercial experience as a programmer. My areas of expertise are C#, JavaScript, jQuery, Delphi, SQL Server... and the ASP .NET MVC framework. I also have a board range of experience and have worked with PHP, Ruby, MySQL, Firebird, Python and Lisp. My most recent project was a highly scalable web 2.0 site that was able to cope with thousands of complex requests per second. Previous to becoming a freelancer I worked as an application developer for Windows programs using Delphi for 11 years. I then transitioned to web development using C# / ASP .NET. The areas I have worked in include EPOS, document management, reporting software, E-Commerce, custom web development and gaming sites. I offer support for the full development cycle of a project including analysis, design, development, testing, security and maintenance. The one thing I don't do is graphic design but I can recommend a good designer or subcontract if you require a full service. Business Translator, German - English

My name is Julia Schumacher, I am a qualified and experienced native German freelance translator and proof reader, currently authoring new local website content, translating appropriate English original source text and proof reading for the website of one of Europe's leading bookmakers. I have been living and working in the UK for many years, with my employment focus on multimedia translation and localization [sic] between US-UK English and German. I provide quality localisation for all types of media, including texts (print media), subtitles, audio, web-pages and interactive software; games, training courses (CBT) & navigation menus. I am proficient in old German handwriting (Kurrent, Suetterlin i.e. Deutsche Schrift font) and Gothic type (Fraktur) translation, though please note the £9 per hour rate does not apply for these usually legally phrased, hand written document based, genealogy (ancestry) projects.
