ABOUT ME: I am the owner of a company called The CV Train, a boutique, specialist training and recruitment company... headquartered in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. I founded the business in 2011, and work with small and medium sized businesses from a range of different sectors across the UK who want the professional expertise and latest, results-focused approaches of large training and recruitment companies, but without paying potentially high commission rates that some of these charge. I have also worked with hundreds of jobseekers from various company levels and backgrounds in both the public and private sector. Through, The CV Train, I help these candidates to secure the right job opportunities and offer guidance on preparing for the various stages of job hunting. This includes help writing and improving CV’s that stand out from the crowd, advice on writing job application letters and forms, and the all-important interview preparation and rehearsal techniques. In my previous life, I have worked primarily within the ‘Welfare to Work’ industry for the past 9 years, helping hundreds of jobseekers and recruiters to meet their respective employment or recruitment goals. I have also delivered and written various workshops and training courses to the jobseeker market, and have worked closely with employers to offer guidance on various areas of their recruitment processes. This includes support for Equal Opportunity Compliance advice, support with the appropriate compilation of company interview panels, and advice on drafting accurate job descriptions. I am a certified professional trainer with a TPMA training qualification awarded by the IITT and is an associate member of the IITT professional body. I also have a Diploma in Career Coaching Outside of The CV Train, I also own a publishing company through which I publish a local community magazine which is distributed to 6000 homes in my own local area. I contribute my own copy material to the magazine as well as editing commissioned articles. Attached to my portfolio are various articles written both for my magazine as well as other publications along with an example of my work on a CV and a flyer outlining my recruitment service, which I designed myself in photoshop. I regularly write articles for other business publications including one which is a paid subscription service, providing the publication to over 300, 00 companies.The articles I write are based on money and time saving solutions for SMEs - I am able to provide examples of my work. I am their key contributor for training and employment issues. I am based in Hertfordshire and am very self motivated to peform work remotely, but I welcome the opportunity to travel further afield for any short term projects. I also own an online retail site which is administrated and managed by myself.
