1. ADMINISTRATOR I am an experienced Administration and Customer care professional with exceptionally well-developed interpersonal and communication skills gained in busy environments with experience of over 7 years, seeking an admin position where I could fully utilise my experience and skills and develope them further. In my recent Project Administrator role I supported team of 8, including group and other company directors, managed diaries of group director and managing consultants (Outlook), monitored project and other expenses (Excel), assisted team of project managers with time tracking, project management and billing (Billquick), generated reports, created expense tracking/other tools on Excel and provided reports to the management. My duties included complex travel arrangements and fieldwork trips, liaising with stakeholders, correspondence via e-mails and letters and creating documents (Word). In addition to the above I was organising meetings and workshops (including internationally), booking venues/catering, taking minutes and other ad-hoc tasks. Prior to moving to project administration I have been working in the customer care and hospitality. As Customer Service manager in the Kitchen Appliances department at Harrods I liaised between customers, manufacturers and delivery companies to ensure seemless logistics of delivery/installation and repair/maintenance logistics (Miele, Maytag, Siemens et al); I also liaised with different departments within the store to provide the customer service. At Crowne Plaza St James hotel, 4* I worked at the reception - meetign and greeting, dealing with complaints and enquiries, making reservations, casier and filing duties. These roles helped me to further develope strong interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills and strengthened my ability to meet and manage clients and team expectations. JOURNALIST/COLUMNIST I have experience working for magazines, newspapers and radio. I have worked for 2 general interest and 2 womens magazines, 2 newpapers and a radio station. I mainly did interviews with celebrities; my other responsibility in one of the womens magazines was to run cooking and home sections (finding contributors, organising photoshoots). At the radio station I had Sunday 12pm one hour show where I talked to celebrities - from politicians to poets to 'shadowy' figures. I have graduated from University of Bucharest, Foreign Languages and Literatures English – Portuguese in June 2010 and a month later I moved to the UK hoping to strengthen my English knowledge and to have the opportunity to get in closer contact with the language and culture I have studied about before and during university. During my studies I have had part-time and temporary jobs, most of them including working with people and using different foreign languages. Since I was 15 I have worked as an interpreter for the American groups who were financially supporting Aid for Pitesti, a charity in my home town. This position brought me in contact with people from various social categories, with different backgrounds and education levels. In 2009 I had the opportunity to study one semester at University of Vigo, Spain as an Erasmus Student. The time spent there had been beneficial as I had the chance to meet new people, from all over the world, practice and improve Spanish and also ...familiarize myself with the Spanish Culture. At the time, the Galician Council was developing a project and I had applied... for a teacher assistant position at a local college. I was one of the people accepted for the job, and I have worked as an English Assistant Teacher for 40 hours. It has been a great experience and helped me strengthen my confidence. The time spent in Spain helped me develop my knowledge of the Spanish language and culture Another part time job I had was as a Portuguese Customer Service Representative for 888.com – poker and casino, at CCC Bucharest. My main responsibilities were to offer customer support over the phone and chat to Portuguese speaking members, sometimes Spanish, Romanian and English as well, and to promote and sell the company’s products. As in any position involving direct contact to members I was trained to be very diplomatic, stay calm and offer all the necessary help in whatever situation. I have learned that when angry people say things that are not strictly directed to the interlocutor, the best technique is to keep calm and find a solution. After finishing my studies I have moved to the UK where I worked as an au pair for two families. I have learned how to be more patient, more considerate, and read in between the lines. I also had to adapt myself twice to two totally different routines, sets of expectations and hopes. During the time spent in Gosport as an au pair I have also decided to become a volunteer at a local charity store and I chose Cancer Research UK. I have been there for 7 months and truly enjoyed the experience. I was responsible with managing, sorting, pricing and shelving the new books and also work at the cash register assisting our clients. All these jobs involved close contact to people and required use of all the language knowledge I possess, all the people skills I have developed over the years, but I was also forced to learn new ways to better deal with new situations.

Call it historical photography of modern times or snapshots of a forgotten past that is very much present in current times but simply lacking the due attention. Something of beauty can be created out of decay, neglect and emptiness. That is how photography plays a major role in urban exploration. The photographs bring attention to the most mundane detail or item in the lonely landscapes. When one looks at the dark tunnels or dilapidated buildings, one cannot help wondering at its once purpose in time not too long ago. When urban explorers manage to get the viewers thinking about such neglected places, their photographs have served their purpose well. Urban exploring may not appeal to many but photographs capturing the nuances of a lonely landscape usually have greater appeal. The photography is not just shared and appreciated by urban explorers but the general public who may be less spirited and adventurous. The photographs creates awareness if not relatively muted curiosity about the ignored buildings and places. Urban explorers can let their imaginations enjoy free play with their photographs, as they ponder over the events from the past and people who once walked in the same path. It is nostalgia that does not belong to the urban explorers yet waiting to be shared. The photographs try bring justice to the forgotten places. They are manifestations of the urban explorers� keen sense of curiosity. The photographs display the perspectives of urban explorers, each as unique as individual fingerprints. The same location can have different appeal to different urban explorers. And no words can capture that unique perspective as vividly as the interesting photographs taken by the avid urban explorers. Just as these abandoned and isolated venues have left their individual mark in history, urban explorers make their personal mark with their photographs.

With this belief imbibed so well in my mind, I choose to grasp more knowledge in the field of Environmental Engineering. Initiating and implementing an internal voluntary project for Environmental Best Practices in Keane-called “GreenZone” propelled me to enhance my knowledge and voluntary interests professionally. I feel elated as I recollect the happiest day of my life; when I stood below the Roll of Honor Board and read my name printed on it in block letters. I had topped my batch of 200 students in the CBSE Examination. It was indeed the turning point in my life and I remember very vividly, the excitement on my parents’ faces as they sat down to help me decide my stream of study. Born to a Chemical Engineer father and an Academician mother who had also pursued Masters of Science in Chemistry, I had developed a scientific temperament from my child hood. I had a penchant for Biology hence I not only studied the same during High School, but also took an additional one year class at University Of Delhi. It was here that I enhanced my knowledge in Genetics and Microbiology. I decided to follow this course with a degree in Engineering. Having successfully cleared the entrance examination, I got selected into Amity School of Engineering and Technology, where I pursued an undergraduate degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering. During the two semester courses in Applied Chemistry studies relating to Water management, Chemical Toxicology and Eco Friendly Polymers specifically caught my interest. Throughout the eight semesters, I maintained my rank in the top 5% of the batch and earned my degree with a First Class and Distinction. Engineering laid a strong foundation to my analytical skills and helped me develop a structured approach towards problem solving. I was recruited by Keane International India Ltd through campus placement in Jun 2006 and was asked to join the organization on November 20th 2006. This was a relatively significant time gap and rather than wasting on holidaying, I decided to actively look for short term jobs. I took up part term employment with Schreder’ India Pvt. Ltd (a company engaged in design, manufacturing & marketing of Industrial Lighting fixtures) as a Lighting Application Design Engineer. My profile included preparing Energy and Cost efficient lighting solutions for major government and private projects (aesthetic yet energy conservative lighting of roads, underpasses, golf courses and stadiums) in New Delhi and its suburbs. As planned, I joined Keane International India as a Software Engineer and was trained to become a Test Professional. I was working in a live development project right from the day I completed my initial training and it was here that I got a chance to demonstrate my abilities as a prompt and efficient worker. Receiving client appreciation for my very first set of deliverables gave me and my leads confidence in my work and approach. During one of the mentoring sessions, I received the title of “Star Performer”, which definitely played a vital role in enhancing my skill sets required for the job. I also earned a Blue Certificate for my excellent contribution towards the project activities during the quarterly rewards and recognition program in the organization. During my tenure in the organization, I started observing instances wherever there was possibility of conservation of resources like paper, water and electricity within the vicinity of work sphere. Although the organization was maintaining the requisite best practices to control the use of valuable resources, I felt the need to mobilize my colleagues working in the organization to develop some practices that would help conserve a lot more. With this intent, I co-founded ‘GreenZone’, a voluntary club within the organization to drive the employees towards eco-friendly initiatives. I had to take a pro-active approach, take the initiative and play a leadership role in motivating people and executing the project to completion. It was during the formative phase of GreenZone, that I learned to implement my project handling training that I had learnt from my earlier assignments. Although a voluntary effort, we managed to create a web portal, posters apart from conducting tree plantation drives in the organization as an effort to reach out to all the employees and spread awareness about the immediate actions that needed to be taken. Throughout my schooling, under-graduate studies and professional phase, I have been able to maintain a balance between studies, work and extracurricular/ cultural activities. I am trained in Indian Classical Music (Vocalist) and have performed at various events over the last 20 years. Born with a photographic memory, my parents made an extra effort to tap this potential and trained me in Shlokas (Sanskrit recitals). I am thus fluent in Sanskrit-The mother of all ancient Indian languages. To this day, I recite Shlokas during meditation. The efforts my parents put in during my formative years have been conducive to my excellent memory and grasping capabilities. In India, any major celebration comprises extensive use of crackers. However, owing to my upbringing, crackers were a banned item in our household and even as a young girl, I was able to convince my friends in the neighborhood to avoid use of crackers. The various dimensions to my academic pursuits have a latest addition in the form of a masters degree in Environmental Engineering. During this phase of my life, I developed ...my skills as a researcher and a writer. During this phase, I successfully submitted a proposal for a university research... grant to carry out my project. To a casual observer it might seem I have had a motley assortment of experiences, but I believe that I have had a gradual evolution of thought. I believe that my long term vision and my efforts towards reaching that goal are meant to fulfill a dire need; to look far in the future, and prepare for what most cannot see but will be affected by. It is my strongest urge to participate in developing a serious damage control mechanism to protect our very existence on this planet, failing which, all further technological advancements would only aide in pushing us over the edge and shall soon stand irrelevant and redundant. Although I may seem pessimistic, yet, this fear is becoming stronger by the day as we observe several climatic changes and disorders hitherto unheard of. This has and will start affecting the humans and could culminate in variety of health related issues.

My experiences of Life are the true reflections of me, and how I see my self groom to be a scholar in the future. Being raised by a father and mother both being educationists, and literarily charged, has developed a sense of book loving attitude. During my adolescence, I usually have two activities, playing cricket and reading books. I love books since my child hood partly because we have very good book collection, kept by my dad who was a social scientist, and had done PhD in Sociolinguistics. I always loved reading books and spent my holidays reading books throughout the days. Usually the books were related to poetry, art, literature and social sciences. But my main interest was in technical knowledge. From 8th grade onwards my main interest developed towards electronic engineering, and in my college years I was very much prominent member of electronic modeling club, where we use to design electronic projects. When I joined my university as a electronic engineering student, I had my own electronic equipment maintenance workshop, which I also used as a commercial workshop to repair electronic equipments, such as TV’s, VCR’s, Radio’s, etc. when I was in second year electronic engineering, I joined an institute in an evening diploma program, to improve my computing skills and got diploma in computer systems. By 1998, then I got my self admitted in another diploma in visual programming and networking, and cleared my diploma along with my bachelors in engineering in year 2000. During my Bachelors, I remain very much involved with various educational activities and got two internships. One, I did at National Development Finance corporation (Biggest public sector financial ...engineering Institution of the country) and another at National Institute of electronics at Islamabad (First public sector electronic engineering research... center). I have also certified my self as Microsoft Certified professional. During my Undergrad education, I got respect from my teachers and have been very prominent student of my class. From my elders I have always known the importance of knowledge, as my dad was a very notable scholar of his time, and had written 18 books. I always dwell and relied on improving my knowledge of all the subjects, instead of focusing on getting highest marks. So although my rank in the class was not 1st second or third, but I have remain under 10 out of 86 students, but still feel fortunate to have been most respectable, and acclaimed in the class. The topic of my undergrad thesis work was “Emergence of Digital economy: Ecommerce and payment mechanism. Just after my graduation, in august 2000, I got an internship opportunity at a growing private sector University having very huge ports and shipping computerization project. Within 20 days, my internship was converted to appointment as Network engineer on the project which was in its initial stages. After 4 months, I become the Team leader and Sr, Network engineer of the Networking division. I become Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA). During that time, I never left my studies and in the evenings, I used to teach e-commerce using ASP’s at an institute. I love my job as a teacher, and I loved teaching. There I found my communications skills and how much I was at ease explaining complex things to my students, and love my self growing with them. In August 2001 I was selected to get Network Management training from U.S. I traveled to US and came back in December 2001, in the mean time at U.S I have done my TOEFL and applied in DePaul University Chicago in Masters in Distributed system program. I got back and completed my project at Pakistan. Then I got admission at DePaul and started my classed in August 2002. Got 4.0 GPA but heard the news of my mom having a very severe stroke, so I returned back to Pakistan and have to discontinue my studies. As my mom was not well, I got to remain in my hometown. During mean time, I got offer for System Administrator / manger I.T. I had responsibility of two big public sector computerization and Health care software projects at the university worth 60 million rupees. I successfully implemented the projects, for which I won Prestigious Academic shield in 2006. During 2005 August I got admission in Masters Program at Mehran University of engineering and technology in communication systems and Networks. The topic of my thesis was “Spatial correlation based media access control protocol in wireless sensor networks”. I cleared my Masters in Dec 2007.
